DisguiseDisguise in photography means hiding something in photo, making the person viewing the photo a little bit confused and intrigued, fascinated and interested in the photo because it is not clear and obvious.
I really like this photo because rabbits live in the woods so she decided to cut the rabbit face into her face. |
OpeningsOpenings in photography means showing see through things.
I think this photo looks good because it looks like the hand is holding a person who is climbing up the window. |
FragmentsFragments in photography means parts of the image are lifted and moved, making the strange but recognisable.
I think this photo is very weird because the eyes, eyebrows, nose are everywhere on her face. |
EdgesEdges in photography mean the curved coroners or straight contours.
I like this because there are lots of locks with writing on near the sea. I think this photo looks beautiful. |
My Theme: Disguise
I chose this theme because I think animal on person's face was interesting. For example, fish live in the sea and the person could stand in the sea, they could change their face into fish. People never see the human with animals face before so they would think what is this. This would make people feel unnatural and surprised. This idea is similar as Egyptian gods.
Cecilia ParedesI like these photos because the bodies of people on photos are painted and they match the background. The photos look very interesting and they make me feel like I want to do the same but on my hand only. I think to paint their bodies took them possibly 2 or 3 hours or even longer because their body had to match the background perfectly. She also used a skirt and her hair to show the different complexions.
|
Donald RustI also like these photos because their faces match the background and we do not notice at first. My favourite photo is the baby face that matches the background, it looks magical.
|
My preferred photographerI prefer Cecilia Paredes because it is very interesting when something matches the background. I like that the skirt matches the background the best because I didn't notice this at first then I saw lines of the skirt and I realised this photo was more complex and this photo is like winding someone up a bit or teasing the person looking at it. This is why I like this theme.
I have decided to maybe paint on my hand so it matches the background. My background could be flowers or maybe grass. I picked these photos because they seem like not so difficult to take. I can maybe paint my hand red like the rose or green like the grass. |
Natural animal camouflageThis is natural animal camouflage. Animal use camouflage because they do not want to get caught by predators. Their skin matches the background. I like the leopard animal because their colours are bright as the background. I also like the seal because their skin matches the ice like the animal is white as snow.

Best Image Worst Image
This photo is my best image because people won't notice the hand paint at first. The camera focus is on the leaves and the hand is a little blurry behind the leaves. I think this photo is interesting because the painted hand is hidden behind the leaves, like a monster hiding behind something.
|
This is my worst image because the photo looks very blurry and I can see the painted hand as the colour looks bright. I made a mistake because I forget to turn the focus on.

Frederick Sommer
Frederic Sommers is a famous photographer who took an interesting photo of a man on a wall background looking like the man was in the wall. He made this photo in 1946 using dark rook. Have a look at his website here.

How I made this?
I went outside and took photos of the tree and photos of me standing in front of the white wall. Then I uploaded the images on my iPhone. I opened up Photoshop and opened the images of me and the trees/walls and merged them together.

Practicing blending with Black and White colour
This is my first experiment I tried Frederick Sommer style. When I blended these images I was trying to make similar style.
Contrast 1 light and 1 dark background
This photo is lighter than other. I don't think it's good enough for a disguise. I can still see the person, there is no disguise.
|
I think in this image there is a better element of disguise because I can't really recognise the person. I prefer this photo because it hides the person better compared to the other.
|
Practice Photos for blending
These images are of me signing different words that I want to use for my blending task. I took these images round the school, outside the corridor and inside the buildings. I think the signing images are best to use because few people know sign language and it is like having a disguise that people can't recognise.
School Trip to Photographer's Gallery
My Photography classroom went on the trip to Photographer's Gallery in London. I took some of images.
Practicing blending with colour
I practiced blending with colour to create these images.
Different adjustment modes
I used different types of adjustment modes to create these images to see what I like the best.
Using lighter colour- adjustment mode
I used lighter colour - adjustment mode to create these images of me with different textures.
Evaluation
I think this image is not good because I was trying make this look like the pattern is on the person but I see the background which I think makes this look blurry and confusing.
|
I really like this image because the pattern on the person look like they have flowers on them. The background look clear with person hiding their face and body.
|
I used Photoshop to create these images, I changed the background by using of different surfaces then I added the photos of me and blended them. I changed the colours of each image. I used two layers but made sure I chose the background layer and rubbed out the part of background I don't need. I chose the image of me with flowers the best because my face and arm is covered by the flowers. I think it looks more effective.
Practicing blending
I practiced blending the image of me and the background, I think the leaves one, is the best option for disguise, because the leaves on my body look like it is blending in naturally. Also the 'sun' sign, links to leaves.
Camera Bag apps
I have to pick which filter best for my Final Piece. I had chose Black and White effect because the photo look nicer for disguise also the background looks plain with a shadow at the corner. I think Black and White is the best option for disguise.
My Final Piece
Evaulation
I went out in the corridor to take images of different signs on white backgrounds, linked to my facial expression. Then I uploaded all these images to my website and put some images in Photoshop. I clicked the images in Photoshop, I added a image of myself and surface or texture and blended these together. I did this by copying and pasting the images on top of each other. I put the texture in Photoshop first then I added a image of myself. I changed the level of brightness/contact. After that, I used a rubber to remove the background I rubbed out the extra bits of texture i did not want that were outside of the shape of me to make it look more effective and tidy. I saved the image and put it in Camera Bag app to changed the colour also brightness and darkness then printed the images. I stuck my images on a mounting board. This is my final piece.
